Biography

Abdul Mutalib is a registered trainee lawyer currently working in the dispute resolution department in Oman.

Abdul Mutalib worked on different types of disputes and has successfully handled cases pertaining to administrative, commercial, criminal and civil claims before the courts of the Sultanate of Oman.

He has worked with clients from diversified backgrounds including a versatile investment group, as well as a major electricity distribution and supply corporation. Additionally, he has assisted clients in the oil and gas and automotive retail industry.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi Law Firm on November 2023, Abdul Mutalib started as an intern on September 2021 in Basma Al Kiyumi Law Firm (“BK Law”) during his last semester in university and was later employed as a trainee lawyer in BK Law.

Recent Experience

Represented major electricity distribution and supply companies in the Sultanate of Oman before various courts and law enforcement authorities
Assisted in representing a leading automotive retail company before the Omani courts addressing allegations of consumer protection law infringement.
Assisted in the development and execution of a comprehensive litigation strategy for a complex Share Purchase Agreement dispute valued at over $40 million. The dispute encompassed multiple factors including breach of condition precedents, the occurrence of unforeseen circumstances impacting the transaction as well as the challenges and mechanism of transferring shares between companies governed by different jurisdictions.
Successfully represented clients in oil and gas industry in criminal court cases relating to allegations of Penal Code violations and criminal liability for labour law infringements during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Contributed to the preparation of multiple civil claims before the courts of Oman for proven medical errors and compensation involving insurance-related incidents.
